How do I add a policy document to monitor?
Go to your Dashboard and click "Add New Watch". Paste the URL of the policy document you want to monitor (Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, SLA, DPA, etc.). ClauseHawk will take an initial snapshot and check for changes according to your plan's scan frequency.
How often are policies scanned for changes?
Scan frequency depends on your plan:
• Free: Manual scans only (up to 5 per hour)
• Starter ($9/mo): Daily automatic scans
• Pro ($29/mo): Hourly automatic scans + priority processing

What happens when a policy changes?
When ClauseHawk detects a change, it will:
1. Take a new snapshot of the policy
2. Generate a detailed change report with risk assessment
3. Send you an email notification (if enabled)
4. Highlight the specific sections that changed
5. Provide a summary of the changes and their potential impact

Can I export my watch list and reports?
Yes! Go to your Dashboard and click the "Export Data" button. You can export your watch list, scan history, and change reports in JSON or CSV format. This is useful for record-keeping, compliance audits, or data portability.
Is the analysis provided legal advice?
No. ClauseHawk is a monitoring and analysis tool, not a law firm. Our summaries, risk assessments, and recommendations are for informational purposes only. Always consult with qualified legal counsel for legal matters, especially before making business decisions based on policy changes.
How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Go to Pricing and select your desired plan. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You can also manage your subscription through the Stripe customer portal in your Account Settings.
What if a policy document requires authentication?
Currently, ClauseHawk can only monitor publicly accessible policy documents. If a document requires login credentials, we won't be able to scan it. We recommend downloading the document manually and using our document upload feature (coming soon), or contacting us for enterprise solutions.
Can I get notifications via Slack or other tools?
Integrations with Slack, Microsoft Teams, webhooks, and other tools are on our roadmap! For now, email notifications are available. If you have specific integration needs, please let us know through the support form below.
How secure is my data?
Very secure. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS for data in transit, AES for data at rest), host on Cloudflare's infrastructure, and follow security best practices. We never sell your data or share it with third parties except as required to provide the service (see our Privacy Policy).
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Go to Account Settings and click "Delete Account". This will permanently delete your account, watch list, snapshots, and reports within 90 days. You can also export your data before deletion. Some information may be retained for legal compliance or fraud prevention.
